Aldus FreeHand 3.0 is the third major release of FreeHand developed by Altsys Corporation and released in 1991 by Aldus for Macintosh and Windows. It is cross-compatible with Virtuoso 1.0 for NeXTSTEP.[1]

New features[]

FreeHand 3.0 updated the user interface with resizable palettes and added support for compound paths. Text could also be converted to paths.

FreeHand 3.1 was released in October 1991 to add support for Macintosh System 7 and pressure-sensitive drawing.

Optional features[]

Users of FreeHand 3.x could install EPS Exchange, an optional plug-in from Altsys that provides access to Adobe Illustrator 88 and Illustrator 3.0 file formats.[2][3]
