Allaire Kawa was an integrated development environment (IDE) that was developed by Tek-Tools, and then Allaire Corporation, for developing, testing, and deploying server-side Java applications.

Product history[]

Kawa was created by Tek-Tools and complemented Allaire's JRun Java application server. On November 6, 2000, Allaire announced that it had acquired Kawa and its development team from Tek-Tools for US$9 million.[1]

After Allaire itself had been absorbed by Macromedia in a merger in March 2001,[2] Macromedia briefly continued to support Kawa Professional and Enterprise editions,[3] but discontinued sales by October 31, 2001.[4]
