California was the home state of Macromedia, which had its headquarters based in the city of San Francisco.

California is the 3rd largest state by geographical area in the United States and has been the most populous U.S. state since Macromedia was founded in 1992.[1]
Macromedia and Adobe in California[]
The state contains several of the most populous U.S. cities, such as San Francisco and San Jose, where Adobe is based. Adobe acquired Macromedia in December 2005 and now also occupies Macromedia's former offices in San Francisco.[2][3]
