SoundEdit Pro was a sound editing application that was distributed by MacroMind-Paracomp.
Background[]
In November 1991, the MacroMind-Paracomp announced that it was acquiring Farallon Computing's SoundEdit audio software.[1] It was released in 1992 as SoundEdit Pro 1.0, which added support for 16-bit sound.[2] In that same year, MacroMind-Paracomp merged with Authorware Inc. to form what would become Macromedia.[3]
On July 5, 1994, Macromedia released its successor, SoundEdit 16, with the ability to handle sound files larger than available RAM.[4]
