MacroMind FireWorks was a post-production module from MacroMind Three-D,[1] an early 3D animation and rendering animation package that was released by MacroMind in 1991.[2]

Product history[]

Originally named MacroMind ImageWorks during development,[3] it could be used to composite individual frames generated by MacroMind Three-D's RenderWorks module with additional effects into PICT sequences or PICS files.[2] Macromind Three-D was succeeded by Macromedia Extreme 3D in 1996.[4]

The name would be revived in 1998 with Macromedia Fireworks, a more sophisticated graphics editor with support for web features.[5]
