Macromedia Contribute 1.0 is the first version of Contribute, released by Macromedia on December 3, 2002.[1] It was also bundled with Macromedia Studio MX Plus.

Contribute was based on the HTML authoring engine from Macromedia Dreamweaver MX.[1] The initial release supported Windows only.[2] Support for Mac OS X would be added in version 2, released in 2003.[3]
