Macromedia Contribute Publishing Server (CPS) is a lightweight server component that was offered as an option to enterprise users of Contribute 3 to enable central management of users and site connections while tracking site-wide publishing activities.
Product history[]
The server software was originally released in July 2004 as Contribute Publishing Services, a key component of the Macromedia Web Publishing System bundle.
In November 2004 it was updated to version 1.11 and renamed Contribute Publishing Server, with support for Contribute 3 and well as Dreamweaver 8 users.
After Adobe Systems' acquisition of Macromedia in December 2005,[1] CPS was no longer updated past version 1.11, but remained available as a server option that was compatible with Adobe Contribute 4,[2] CS3,[3] and CS4.[4]
