After Adobe Systems' acquisition of Macromedia in December 2005,[2] Fireworks 8 was succeeded by Adobe Fireworks CS3, which replaced Adobe ImageReady in Adobe Creative Suite 3.
End of support[]
Adobe discontinued active support for Macromedia Studio 8 in 2008.[3] On December 15, 2012, the activation server for legacy Macromedia products was shut down.[4] Adobe provided a procedure to activate older applications from Macromedia Studio MX 2004, but not Studio 8.[5]
