Macromedia Flash Professional 8 is one of the last versions of the Flash authoring system to be released under the Macromedia name. It was also packaged with Macromedia Studio 8 and several Adobe Bundles.[1]

Released on September 13, 2005, the professional version included advanced features beyond the basic version, especially for digital video.[2]
Product history[]
After being acquired by Adobe, Flash Professional 8 was bundled with Adobe Creative Suite 2.
After Adobe Systems' acquisition of Macromedia in December 2005,[3] the pro version was succeeded by Adobe Flash CS3 Professional in Adobe Creative Suite 3, which was released in April 2007. The basic version was discontinued and replaced by a discounted educational version of Flash CS3 Professional.[4]
End of support[]
Adobe discontinued active support for Macromedia Studio 8 in 2008.[5] On December 15, 2012, the activation server for legacy Macromedia products was shut down.[6] Adobe provided a procedure to activate older applications from Macromedia Studio MX 2004, but not for applications from Studio 8.[7]
