Macromedia Studio 8 was the last software suite released by Macromedia, before it was acquired by Adobe Systems in December 2005.[1]
The software package superseded Macromedia Studio MX 2004 and was replaced in March 2007 by Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Standard and Web Premium.
Applications[]
- Macromedia Dreamweaver 8
- Macromedia Flash Professional 8
- Macromedia Fireworks 8
- Macromedia Contribute 3
- Macromedia FlashPaper 2
Applications from Studio 8 were also packaged with Adobe Creative Suite 2 in special bundles.[2]
End of support[]
Adobe discontinued active support for Macromedia Studio 8 in 2008.[3] On December 15, 2012, the activation server for legacy Macromedia products was shut down.[4] Adobe provided a procedure to activate older applications from Macromedia Studio MX 2004, along with Contribute 3 and FlashPaper 2, but not the rest of the Studio 8 applications.[5]
