Altsys Metamorphosis is a font conversion utility developed and marketed by Altsys Corporation.
Product history[]
Version 1.0, first released in 1989,[1] allowed the conversion of fonts between PostScript Type 1 and Type 3 formats, and vice-versa. It could also retrieve PostScript fonts from connected laser printers.[2][3]
Version 1.5, released in summer 1990 as a free upgrade to 1.0 users, exported Type 1 fonts that were compatible with Adobe Type Manager.[4]
Version 2.0, known as Metamorphosis Professional, was released in March 1991 and added support for TrueType fonts. Type 1 fonts could also be exported for use in NeXTSTEP.[5]
