Robert Kenneth Burgess is an Canadian business executive, and the last chairman of Macromedia before it was acquired by Adobe Systems in December 2005.[1][2]
Career[]
Burgess served as CEO of Alias Research from 1992 to 1995. After Alias was merged with Wavefront Technologies, Burgess became the president of the combined Alias|Wavefront company. He later became senior vice president of Silicon Graphics, which had acquired both companies.[3]
Macromedia[]
Burgess joined Macromedia on August 28, 1996 and became president on November 1. He was CEO from 1997 to 2005, after which Stephen Elop succeeded him as CEO.[3][4]
