RoboHelp Office, previously known as WinHelp Office, was a series of software suites released by Blue Sky Software,[1] then EHelp Corporation and Macromedia.
Product history[]
RoboHELP 2.6 was bundled with a Help Compiler in May 1994 to eliminate the need for a 3rd-party development environment to create help files.[2] This trend continued with RoboHELP 3 being bundled with WinHelp Video Kit in March 1995.[3][4] RoboHELP 95 became available as part of WinHelp Office 95.[5] When RoboHELP 5.5 began shipping on March 16, 1998,[6] WinHelp Office was renamed to RoboHELP Office 5.5.[7] Some versions, such as RoboHELP 2000, were only available in an office suite.[8]
eHelp Corporation introduced RoboHelp Enterprise as a server-based enhancement for the RoboHelp 9 office suite.[9] This was renamed Office Pro with the RoboHelp X4 suite.[10]
Macromedia RoboHelp X5, released by Macromedia in late January 2004, was the last version to feature an office suite.[11] Future versions of Adobe RoboHelp included the office features as part of the standard package and spun off the server-based Office Pro product into RoboHelp Server.[12]
