Stefan van As is a Dutch software engineer who worked for Macromedia and Adobe.
Education[]
Van As received a B.Sc. in technical business administration in 1996 from Hogeschool Utrecht in the Netherlands.
Career[]
Macromedia[]
Van As joined Macromedia in August 1991 and worked on Authorware 5.2 to 7. He also worked on Macromedia Dreamweaver 4 along with CourseBuilder and Learning Site Command extensions for it. Van As left the company in October 2001.[1]
After Macromedia[]
As a consultant for Nick Bradbury, Van As wrote an extension for Macromedia Dreamweaver MX that allowed TopStyle to be used as a dedicated CSS editor. After Macromedia was acquired by Adobe Systems in December 2005,[2] van As provided consulting services for Adobe India's engineers based in Bangalore.[1][3]
In December 2008, Van As acquired the rights to the TopStyle editor from Bradbury and NewsGator Technologies and continued development on it through 2016.[1] Van As was the winner of the 2016 Cool App Contest for his development of 1Password for Windows, which he wrote in Delphi.[4]
